According to an E-Mail sent out to PSN users titled "Identity Theft Protection Offer for PlayStation Network and Qriocity Customers" it stated that Sony will be allowing PlayStation network users who felt that their information was in jeopardy to sign-up to be eligible for free AllClear ID PLUS service for 12 months.
"AllClear ID PLUS is a premium identity protection service that uses advanced technology to deliver alerts to help protect you from identity theft. The service also provides identity theft insurance coverage and hands-on help from expert fraud investigators." Stated the e-mail to let their customers know what they are signing up for."
In order to be eligible to sign-up you must be a resident of the United States and have an active account as of April 20, 2011. If you are interested in this offer you must submit your e-mail address to the link provided in the e-mail before June 28, 2011 at 11:59:59 PM CST. They state that you MUST use the e-mail address used to register your PlayStation Network or Qriocity account. Once they validate your e-mail they will send you your AllClear ID PLUS activation code. So if you feel that your information is not safe, head on over and get protected for 12 months free of charge!
