More than 20 billion matches have been played over Xbox Live in Halo!
Since September 9, 2004, 20,880,250,123 matches have been played. Halo 2 accounted for 5.4 billion games, Halo 3/ODST counted for 11.5 billion, and Reach was 3.9 billion.
Gamers have logged 235,182 years playing Halo games. According to Bungie, this is equal to the time necessary for light to cross the Milky Way twice.
Gamers have also racked up 108,548,288,596 total kills across Halo 2, 3, ODST, and Reach. Also, players have earned 79,027,866,182 medals from the three titles.
March 31 marked Bungie's final day as the leader of the Halo series. Moving forward, Microsoft and 343 Industries will be handleing all things related to Halo now. That studio shipped Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and is now working on Halo 4.
